Smashed in the head by a homeless person

A few hours before our interview with Dmitri Christakis, I was walking my four-year old son back from breakfast in Seattle. A homeless person leapt in front of us, screamed “Give me your money!” and smashed my head with a rock. Urgent care wouldn’t touch it, said I needed an ER. So I stuffed a bunch of paper towels into a cap, went and filmed the interview and then drove to an ER at our next stop (Portland.)

I left with 7 staples in my scalp and a blog post.
